Tungabhadra Dam Is Located In Near Banglore Uttrakhand ,it have been constructed across various perennial rivers, as a part of several multi-purpose projects to serve a variety of needs. Basically, dams are built to harness the river water so that it can be utilised according to the needs. The aim of a multipurpose project is storing water for irrigation purposes, generating hydro-electricity by utilising the water stored by the dams, preventing floods and facilitating afforestation in the catchments areas of the reservoirs. Moreover, the dams also provide drinking water, using the canals for navigation in some areas and also facilitating Pisciculture and recreational activities. The main multipurpose projects constituting Indian dams are Hirakud Dam in Orissa, the Bhakra-Nangal Project in Punjab, the Damodar Valley Project in Bihar and West Bengal, the Tungabhadra Project in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, the Rihand Project in Uttar Pradesh.

The India Gate is the national monument of India.It is amajestic arch which stands like archway in the middle of acrossroad. India Gate is constructed as a memorial for the memory 90,000 soldiers who laid down their lives during World War I and second Afghan war in 1919. Located at Rajpath, New Delhi, it is also known as the All India War Memorial,Constructed in sandstone, the gate is 42 meters in height and is popular relaxation area during the summer evenings.
The India Gate reaches up to a height of 42mtrs and stands tall in the heart of the city with an arched structure. It is boasted that the India Gate is similar in structural elegance to the counterpart in Paris. The monument is built with light brown Bharatpur stones. An added memorial- Amar Jawan Jyoti was introduced in 1971 after the Indo-Pak war in the memory of the many deceased Indian soldiers. A flame burns day and night in remembrance of the lost lives.

Big Buddha, Hong Kong also known as Tian Tan Buddha or Giant Buddha, is located at Ngong Ping, Lantau Island in Hong Kong. is a large bronze statue of a Buddha Amoghasiddhi or A proof of the harmonious relationship between man and nature, people and religion, the statue of Big Buddha is located near Po Lin Monastery. it is a major centre of Buddhism in Hong Kong, and is also a popular tourist attraction.
The Big Buddha statue just started being constructed. The idea has been conceived much earlier and had it not been for the endless bureaucratic red tape, it would be close to completion by now. However, the paper work has already been finalized and the construction has been ongoing since February of last year.
The funds dedicated to this Big Buddha work in progress are entirely coming from donations issued by various well wishers. The project is pretty huge meaning that it has already consumed a lot of money and will consume even more before it can be completed successfully.

Jantar Mantar Jaipur

Jantar Mantar was Built between 1727 and 1734 Maharajah Jai Singh II of Jaipur constructed five astronomical observatories in west central India.These structures with their striking combination of geometric forms at large scale have captivated the attention of architects, artists, and art historians world wide, yet remain largely unknown to the general public. Jai Singh named his observatory Jantar Mantar, which is actually pronounced, as ‘Yantra Mantra’, yantra for instrument and mantra for formula.
The Samrat Jantar, the largest instrument, is 90 feet high, its shadow carefully plotted to tell the time of day. Its face is angled at 27 degrees, the latitude of Tour of Jaipur. The Hindu chhatri (small domed cupola) on top is used as a platform for announcing eclipses and the arrival of monsoons.The instruments are in most cases huge structures. The scale to which they have been built has been alleged to increase their accuracy. However, the penumbra of the sun can be as wide as 30 mm, making the 1mm increments of the Samrat Yantra sundial devoid of any practical significance. The Somnath is the famous temple of God Shiva,located in the Prabhas Kshetra near Veraval in Saurashtra, on the western coast of Somnath temple has one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The town is situated at the confluence where River Saraswati meets the Sea. The Somnath Temple is known as "the Shrine Eternal".

Somnath temple stands at the shore of the Arabian ocean on the western corner of Indian subcontinent in Gujarat State. This pilgrimage is one of the oldest and finds its reference in the ancient texts like Skandpuran, Shreemad Bhagavat, Shivpuran etc. The hymn from Rig-Veda quoted below mention the Bhagvan Someshwar along with the great pilgrimage like Gangaji, Yamunaji and Eastward Saraswati. This signifies the ancient value of this Tirthdham.

The Sardar Sarovar dam is the largest. With a proposed height of 136.5 m (455 feet), it is the focal point of both the dam-builders plans and the Narmada Bachao Andolan's opposition.The dam is a 1210 m (3970 feet) long wall of concrete across the valley. It is designed to impound a reservoir with a full level of 139 m (455 feet) above sea level (asl). The middle section of the dam is planned to reach a height of 146.5 m (481 feet) asl. The bed of the river at the dam site is at 17 m (56 feet) asl so the planned height of the dam above the river bed is 129.5 m (425 feet).

The Sardar Sarovar Dam is on the Narmada River in Gujarat state, 170 kilometres pstream from where the river flows into the Gulf of Khambhat in the Arabian Sea. The Narmada is the largest westward flowing river in India. A few kilometres downstream from the dam site on the north bank is Kevadia Colony, the town built to house the construction workers and related bureaucracy. Vadgam, the first village behind the dam, starts around one kilometre from the dam site and stretches out for several more kilometres along the north bank. About 15

Nagarjuna Sagar Dam  is the world's largest masonry dam built across Krishna River in Nagarjuna Sagar, Nalgonda District of Andhra Pradesh, India, between 1955 and 1967.Nagarjuna Sagar, located at a distance of  150 km from Hyderabad, is  one of  the most prominent Buddhist centers and attractive  tourist spots in Andhra Pradesh.Known in ancient days as Vijayapuri, Nagarjunasagar takes its present name from Nagarjuna, one of the most revered Buddhist monks, who governed the sangha for nearly 60 years around the turn of the 2nd century AD. It is also a place of immense archaeological significance & excavations  which reveal  Nagarjunasagar as a center for the propagation of Buddhist teachings in South India.

Nagarjuna dam, which was completed in 1966, is 124 metres high and 1 km long has 26 crest gates. The lake, which it straddles, is the third largest manmade lake in the world. 4 kms away from the dam, is the Viewpoint, where a panoramic view of the amazing landscape, is simply a feast to the eyes.
